Merry Christmas !

Merry Christmas from my house to yours, what does Christmas mean to you ? If you ask my daughter Suzie, it means “JOY AND HAPPINESS”. To my daughter Ava “Its a way to spend time with family.” To me and my husband it’s a time to be mindful, to meditate about the holy family and to make sure each of our daughters feel the love that we have for them.
We live divided at times, two of our girls are spending time with the other half of their family. There are times of adjusting and transition, sometimes it’s time to stop and give some extra hugs, run an early warm bath or hug away some fear. For families of divorce you know that the Christmas season can be a hard one. Your family is in my prayers. My husband and I are offering our hardships up to God for you. “Jolly” for us in this season of life can seem a little sarcastic, I push against that with all my heart for you.

We make the cookies, we do the shopping (online mostly), we wrap the gifts, we run around to the school masses, pageants, concerts, gift exchanges, surprise callings and unexpected guests and expenses. We send the Christmas cards, make hot chocolate, buy the Christmas pajamas.
It’s enough to make you forget Christmas all together… it’s so much.
We try to remember that Christ was “happy, humble and caring.” Even when we are ” Tired, stressed and numb.”
Travel this time with joy and anticipation, the good times are coming, maybe its your year to have your family all together or maybe you are still waiting. Joy is waiting for you. There is room for you, there is a place prepared. Merry Christmas my friends.
