Hello My Friend..
A Tribute to Heather: A True Sister in Christ
In the tapestry of life, God weaves people into our stories with purpose and love. Today, I want to share about a thread so vibrant, so strong, that it’s changed the entire pattern of my life. That thread is my dear friend, Heather. I think I have seen Heather only a hand full of times, some of those times being in the safe space of her office as my doctor, you see Heather saved me and my daughters life. On the operating table, during my first borns birth. Like so many first babies my eldest entry into the world was dramatic… after we found that we had had a common thread and that was Christ ” I have called you by name”. That was the quote on my bag that I brought to the office. Ever since there has been thousands of texts, a stream of consciousness that is so beautiful, contemplative, full of humor, prayerful and a source mental solace. In a world of fast and fleeting faces, our friendship is slow. We are both stay at home moms, we love to craft and make things for our children. Heather makes a science out of the well curated dining table … its impossible to put into words but if you have a Heather you know – She delights in what I delight in, I delight in what she shows me. It’s a circular movement of inspiration and encouragement. If I was a doctor I would prescribe a form of her just for you.
Heather isn’t just a friend; she’s a force of nature in matters of faith. Imagine a juggernaut of belief, moving through life with unwavering trust in Christ, and you’ll begin to glimpse who Heather is. Her passion for God is matched only by her ability to infuse joy into every conversation we share.
As an adult, I often find myself wrestling with inner battles, my soul feeling withered by life’s challenges. But Heather? She takes those struggles and lifts them up to Christ with the most beautiful prayers I’ve ever heard. Her words wash over me and my family like a soothing balm, reminding us of God’s endless love and grace.
You know that phrase “brothers and sisters in Christ”? I used to think I understood it, but now I realize it was created to describe friendships like ours. Heather embodies what it truly means to be family in faith.
I’ve had many friends throughout my life – some wonderful, some… well, not so much. But Heather? She’s in a league of her own. It’s as if God looked down and decided, “I want to show Corrin what true, Christ-centered friendship looks like.” And He did it with Heather and her entire family.
Their presence in my life is a testament to God’s love and His desire for us to experience deep, meaningful connections. Through Heather, I’ve learned what it means to support, encourage, and pray for one another with genuine love and faith.
To my dear friend Heather: Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ in my life. Your friendship is a gift I treasure, a constant reminder of God’s goodness and the beauty of Christian fellowship.
And to all of you reading this: May God bless you with a ‘Heather’ in your life – someone who points you to Christ, uplifts your spirit, and walks beside you in faith and love.
